An easy, super tasty crusty bread featuring homemade everything bagel seasoning!


  • Everything Bagel Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp dried minced garlic

  • 1 Tbsp dring minced onion

  • 1 Tbsp poppy seeds

  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

  • 2 tsp kosher salt

  • Bread Dough
  • 3 C flour

  • 1 tsp kosher salt

  • 1/2 tsp dry yeast

  • 2 Tbsp everything bagel seasoning mix

  • 1 1/2 C water heated to 100-110 degrees


  • Mix all the everything bagel seasoning ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, yeast and everything bagel seasoning.
  • Add the water, and mix with a spatula or your hands until fully incorporated. Do not over mix.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and a dish towel. Set in a warm place on your counter 12-18 hours (I usually make this to sit overnight).
  • When ready to bake, put an oven-safe dutch oven* with its lid into the oven and preheat to 450 degrees.
  • Flour your work surface and gently remove the dough from the bowl. Shape the dough into a ball by pulling all edges in toward the middle, then flip the whole thing over for a smooth rounded top.
  • Put ball on a lightly floured piece of parchment paper. Slice 3 slashes into the top of the dough, spritz lightly with water, and sprinkle 1-2 Tbsp of the everything bagel seasoning over the top.
  • Carefully remove dutch oven from the oven, and place the dough and parchment paper inside. Cover, and put back into the oven.
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 25 minutes, then remove lid and bake 15 minutes more until crust is light golden brown.
  • Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice and enjoy warm or cold!


  • * A Dutch oven is an oven safe pot with a lid. Generally they are made of cast iron (like Le Creuset).
