Better than store bought! This crunchy and healthy granola has the perfect light sweetness from the dried fruit. Experiment with the ingredients to make it your own! Can be made gluten free using GF oats.

  • 4 C old fashioned rolled oats

  • 1 C raw whole almonds

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 C olive oil (or sub melted coconut oil)

  • 1/4 C honey (or sub maple syrup)

  • 1 tsp almond extract

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • 2/3 C dried fruit chopped (dates and prunes shown here but can sub raisins or other preferred dried fruit).

  • 3 Tbsp chia seeds (optional)

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl combine the oats, almonds, salt and cinnamon. Mix well.
  • Add the oil, honey, almond extract and orange zest. Mix ensure the oats and almonds are evenly coated.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake about 25 minutes until light golden brown. If you like your granola a bit chunky, stir halfway through baking to clump them up a bit.
  • Remove from oven and stir in the dried fruit and chia seeds.
  • Let cool completely – granola will crisp up as it cools. Enjoy!

  • This is a great recipe to make based on what you like. Use the amounts as a guide, and feel free to sub in your own ingredients and flavors!
  • Tastes great by itself as a snack, as a cereal with almond milk, or over yogurt!
